Rotating tool with 19 water stones for sharpening wood carving gouges & chisels
On one rotating water stone set or tool for sharpening wood carving gouges and chisels as pictured. There are a total of 19 stones mounted on the shaft, which is turned by the hand crank at the end. The pieces of the wood box appear to be glued together, but I haven’t tried putting any water in in to see how watertight it might be. Overall size of the box, not including the handle, is about 12-1/16″ long by 3-1/8″ wide by 3-7/16 tall. The wide flat stone at the end is about a 32nd over 3/4 in width. It weighs nearly 7 pounds on my postal scale (6 pounds 13.9 ounces). I suspect that there should be some washers on the shaft in between the handle bracket and the handle. If the handle is pushed all the way in, towards the box, the handle can bind up against the bracket as shown in the 8th picture. Or you can simply pull outwards a bit as you are rotating the handle. Condition of the stones is fair to good, with lots of little chips and several large flat spots. See the 2nd stone from the right in the 11th picture, that has the largest flat spot by far. Condition of the box is good, functional but not dressed up at all. (but see below if you are in Canada). I sell what I enjoy, and I collect antique woodworking tools and I enjoy photography!
