A RARE and beautiful antique wooden sculpture depicting Pieta – the Virgin Mary cradling the dead body of Jesus. Great sculpture with incredible amount of detail on this famous work of art depicting the body of Jesus on the lap of his mother Mary after the Crucifixion. Base was replaced later. Dating back to the period of 1700s / 1800’s. Dating back to the period of late 1700´s / 1800´s. For a more detailed description please refer to the pictures. The overall dimensions are height 14.1 inches (36cm), width 10.2. Inches (26cm) and depth of base is 6.1 inches (15.5cm). Weight is 7.3 pounds (3.3kg).
