Wood Carved Moai Statue Chainsaw Carving Easter Island Sculpture Statue Art
This carving was carved with a chainsaw from a scotch pine log. It has been sealed with multiple coats of spar urethane, giving it a glossy protective finish. As can be seen in the photos, the carving does have many cracks and natural imperfections in it. Cracking is a common and natural occurrence in wood. The cut you see in the back of the carving is intentional. It is a relief cut. This carving can be kept indoors or outdoors. If kept outdoors, it is best to keep the carving out of direct sunlight as the excessive heat and harsh uv lights are very hard on wood carvings.
