In the style of Roberto de la Selva, this handmade, chip-carved panel depicts great birds of the Southwest United States. It come from the Kachina Lodge in Taos, NM where it was decoration on the registration desk for the Lodge. The panel was custom made in Taos by an unknown carver specifically for the Kachina in 1960, and was designed by the co-owner, architect, and Taos artist, Duane VanVechten. The Lodge is undergoing renovation and this one-of-a-kind panel is one of the final vestiges from its heyday.
