Lonnie and Twyla Money Kentucky Folk Art Wood Carving With Damage
This spotted mare and colt pair has some damage – the colt has two cracks on its right side legs- the Mare has a crack ion the left leg along with some paint chips on the ear and top of tail. Lonnie was born in 1949, and Twyla was born in 1952, in Eastern Kentucky where they still reside. Lonnie and his wife Twyla were previously cattle ranchers in Kentucky and now work out of a milking barn they converted to a studio. Lonnie carves animal designs inspired from life on their rural farm and Twyla completes the finished carvings with paint. The Moneys have become well known for their finely carved and whimsical depictions of both domestic and wild creatures.
