We are proud to have found this and be in a position to offer it for sale! A mid 14th Century carved wooden sculpture of The Virgin, circa 1350. Presented with substantial traces of its original polychromy. Most probably Franco-Flemish origin. It is likely that this figure may well have formed a much larger Calvary Group now long since dispersed/lost. Condition – as per images. Some traces of old worm to the rear of the head but long since gone, stable and treated too as a precautionary measure. Dimensions : Height 35″ x Width 11″ x Max Depth 7 1/2.
