This is “Organic Formation”. Measures: 18.5 in. (Height) x 4.5 in. (Width at widest point). Material: Cedar Wood / Dark brown overall with red and yellow hues throughout, GLOSS FINISH. All imperfections in the wood are intentional, textures etc. This Cedar sculpture was hand carved and was sealed for protection. This sculpture is part of my ongoing series Formations. I begin with a raw piece of wood and carve based upon the grain of the wood. I do my best to bring out the inner most of each piece of wood that I carve. All my wood sculptures are hand carved, sanded, stained and sealed for their protection. I hand pick each and every piece of wood that I carve out of and every piece of wood tells a different story. I showcase knots in the wood and follow the grain to produce these intricate designs. In person this form will beg to be touched! I have been a sculptor for over 20 yrs.
