Dont know much about this item other than what is visible. Its wood, hand carved (the roof of the mouth is clearly scooped with a blade), and hand painted. The scale pattern is pressed by hand. The base and burl are American or English walnut. I cant find any damage of any sort. The lack of finish on the underside of the board, to me, speaks to a one-off hand made item. The paint is in very nice condition. Great item for any fishermans den, mantle, or man cave.
