Incredibly detailed owl alebrije wood carving from the workshop of Joaquin Hernandez. This owl was carved out of copal wood and painted with great detail. You can see in the pictures that the feet, tail and other parts of the body were painted with a textured pattern that adds a unique look to this wonderful wood carving. The back of the owl has an attached chord for hanging but this piece can also be propped up on its tail with face and body facing forward. Length/Width/Depth: 21.5″ x 16″ x 6.5. Origin: San Martin Tilcajete, Oaxaca, Mexico. Single piece of copal wood. Signed by the artist. View more great items.
