Original True Modern Primitive Tall 50 Sculptural From the conquistador series. Conquistador Fireplace tool stand by Witco = Western International Trading Company. Became famous for its Tiki-inspired carvings, artwork and decor in the late 50’s and early 60s. Witco decor is generally made out of red cedar with dark walnut stain. Dimensions: roughly 50″ tall; approximately 8″ wide; about 7.5 deep. I do not know if the iron fireplace tools are original to the piece they came with the sculpture. Great vintage Condition: no missing pieces Excellent overall, consistent with age and use. Typical Witco Splits on the wood. Please keep in mind this is a Vintage piece and has its normal signs of wear. It has patina this is what gives it its character and confirms its age. The carvings which eventually evolved into the rough cedar chain saw carved furniture and Tikis, Witco as it became more commonly known and famous for. Even Elvis famously decked out Gracelands carpeted ceiling.
