Stephan Huneck was a close personal friend of mine. It has taken almost a decade to get past his death. You can not take it with you! This has been in the back of my basement for 15 years and will only now see the light of day. Stephen had ent it to me about 20 years ago, perhaps longer. It is a carved wood prototype he would use to create mplds of Sally, the infamouns center of his dog kingdom. As most of you know, Sally was a black lab. Sally needs to go to perhaps a museum or caring home. This includes an unpublished book of his and the suporting artwork! A lot of this is truely one of a kind art. This fits into the one of the kind. As Stephen noted to me, he did not carve much as he aged. It tool a lot of time AND his hands were weakening. The carved items that were generally used for resin molds are very rare. He mentioned he had them stashed away, I do not know where they went but I have about a half dozen. Sally is carved of basswood and fitted together with dowls and glued from laminated strips. I will have her professionally packed by UPS so the tail does not break. She is about 51″ x 28″. I love what I do and feel that we that can deal in antiques and preserve history are the luckiest of all. I focus on happy repeat customers and love what I do and try to ensure all customers are happy. I do not stay glued to my computer and have a real job so please do not expect instantaneous answers. I specialize in paper, photos , coins and militaria. I sell about anything except reproductions. If it is not old, I say so. If there is a defect, I also say so. You can always learn more in this business. If I make a mistake, and we all do, I will take responsibility for it and you can return the item.
