ORIGINAL WOOD SPIRIT CARVING CEDAR. SIGNED BY ARTIST: ADAM PLITT. This Wood Spirit was carved from a fallen Cypress Tree close to the Biloxi River near Saucier, Mississippi. Before carving began, the wood was allowed to dry for several months to prevent cracks or splits from forming. Cracks hurt Wood Spirits. Once completed, a coat of boiled lindseed oil was applied. Excess oil was was allowed to penetrate for a bit and then wiped away with a dry cloth. Another coat of lindseed oil was then lightly applied. His name is TROTTER. It’s okay to change his name, as he has had many names in the past and lived in many different trees. If you have any question….
