Up for your consideration is a stunning French brutalist hand carved wooden bust of a Saint from the early 1800’s. This was picked up by my Grandfather somewhere in his many travels. He was a British Military Officer during World War II and later a Diplomat. This has been displayed in my home for many years. I put my hat on it when I come in for the day. It is heavy for its size. It’s most likely French and from the late 1700’s to early 1800’s. It likely came from a church. It could possibly be a hat mold. It works very well as a Stetson hat holder. At least that’s what I do with it. This antique 1800’s hand carved wooden Saint bust sculpture statue is a unique and one-of-a-kind piece of art from France. The medium-sized statue measures 12 inches in height and features intricate details, showcasing the craftsmanship of the Neoclassicism/Romantism period. This original statue, carved by a lost artist, is a beautiful addition to any art collection, reflecting the cultural significance of the era and the artistry of its time.
