This piece was carved with a chainsaw from a scotch pine log. It has been sealed with multiple coats of spar urethane. This carving can be kept outside, but I recommend keeping it out of direct sunlight as the harsh uv lights and excessive heat are very hard on wood carvings. A cool shaded location is the best place to keep a wood carving. The dimensions are as follows: roughly 21″ tall and 8″x8 wide/ thick. This carving has many cracks in it as can be seen in the photos. This is completely normal. Cracking is a common occurrence in wood. The cut in the back of the carving is intentional. It is a relief cut and allows the wood to breathe without splitting.
