There are several chip damages on the edges, near the base, and the carving itself. Some fine hairline cracks, and surface peels. Some scratches and color wears on surface. There is a piece of wood (not original) attached to the base. The base is not even and will wobble if placed on flat surface. Underneath the base wood, there are uneven carvings. This sculpture is heavy. Some discolorations and residue between the grooves. This sculpture was well carved, with good definitions. The lion’s expression has a faint “worried” or “concerned” look. Circa: 20th century, origin possibly from Europe. The base is rectangle, and is not squared. Height: a little under 26″ inches Base (LxW): 5-1/4″ x 15-1/4 inches.
