Signed by carving artist: Caron. This is a very impressive wood chip carving. The wood is a light colored carving wood, believed to be Spanish Cedar. That is a wood that is used in tobacco humidors (I know that because I build them). Spanish Cedar is impervious to moisture and regulates moisture in humidors, FYI. It also carves really well because of the long straight grain of the wood. This piece depicts an early American woman. The carving is wonderfully done, and is in perfect condition, without chips or cracks anywhere. The photos may look a bit odd from the steep angle of the camera. I took them like that so that you could see how deep the carving is. It is in very high definition as “Graphic Relief” carvings go. The depiction is definitely of a woman in motion and on the move. Take note of the pleats in her dress, and the folds in her blouse. It is very well crafted. The piece measures approx 18″ tall, and 7″ wide. The board is about an inch thick. This item is in the category “Art\Art Sculptures”. The seller is “nyckelharpabuilder” and is located in this country: US. This item can be shipped to United States.
