BEAUTIFUL EARLY HAND CARVED ITALIAN ALL ORIGINAL BLACKAMOOR FIGURAL STATUE CIRCA 1880. We are excited to bring you this gorgeous, early hand carved Italian, all original, Blackamoor, figural statue. Circa 1880 and weighs 44 pounds. The dimensions are 71″ tall, 14 1/2″ wide and 14 1/2 depth. Features a Blackamoor figural man holding a jardiniere. All original paint, with stippled decoration throughout. The dress and shoes are done in a luxurious brocade pattern, which is showing rich colors of gold, reds and blacks. Very beautiful detail done in a faux marbled finish on the base. This piece is in wonderful condition for the period. This statue was not originally electrified and that process was done between 1910 – 1920. As stated, the details in the figure and base are just exquisite and he is ready to add elegance to any style home or study. The carving is very intricate and is just wonderful! One can definitely tell it was done by a very skilled hand/craftsman. To protect this piece and due to dimensions, we will have you use Pack & Send Plus.
