Vintage Hand Carved Three Graces Shell Cameo Lamp Nightlight Sculpture Wood Base. Seldom Seen Cameo Lamp/Nightlight/Wood Sculpture!! Intricate hand carving of the Three Graces on the Carnelian shell was originally a lamp or nightlight. I have used it as a sculpture rather than a lamp since I fear the threads on the metal piece which mounts the shell to the wood base are getting worn. Also, I think it is best not to use it as a light since the light might dry out the shell and perhaps make it more susceptible to cracking. My daughter-in-law thinks it is uber cool. I certainly wouldn’t mind keeping it and leaving it to her when I pass whi. Ch is why I have priced it as I have. Please see the last image for scale and height measurement. It will require rewiring with the cord passing through a hole in the wood base. My guess is this piece is from the 1930s, but that is only a guess. The cameo is in very good vintage condition with no crack or chips that I can see. Please examine the images showing all sides of the piece carefully. Please note the scratch at the stop of the wood base. I used a stain pen to match the stain to the rest of the wood base which I have not touched. What an uncommon and heirloom worthy piece!!!
