It is a perfect estate piece to gift or wonderful to start or add to your collection. American quarter sawn oak (1/4 or tiger oak) hall tree with a seat or bench. Both beautiful and very well made item. Wonderful quarter sawn (tiger) oak was used in the manufacture of this striking piece. Great decorative elements make it special. Large oval hand-beveled mirror is surrounded by exceptional carving. The original hooks have lion’s heads on them. Well thought out design with a mirror, hooks for hanging items, a seat to put on / take off your shoes, and a storage area under the seat. It is an extremely versatile piece of furniture. Although the original intention of this item was by the entrance of the house, have seen them used in creative ways: bedroom, large bathroom, etc. Was professionally refinished many years ago. This is an original piece not a later reproduction. It dates from right around 1900. It has an older restoration job on it which is still in good condition. Some fogging in the mirror. The wear is normal and appropriate to an item of this age. There are reflections in the photographs. Dont miss out on this really wonderful item!
