This offering is for a late 19th century hand seated figure of a young dog, likely made in the Black Forest region of Germany. The figure is made of a light colored wood, possibly pine or Linden wood, with an outstanding deep brown natural surface patina. The overall height is app. 12.5 and the base measures app. 7 across at the widest point. The carving is quite realistic with an excellent rendering of the pups fur. He presents with an intense playful feeling that just makes you smile. The surface is excellent with very very minor high point wear and a beautiful mellow surface patina that has never been touched. The condition is excellent with no breaks, cracks or repairs. If additional photo’s are needed or you have need of answers to questions we do not address we will be happy to supply them.
