Large hand made primitive Medieval knight wood carving sculpture measures 22 3/4″ long by 15 1/2″ across the widest point and varies from 1 1/2″ – 1 3/4″ thick. This looks to have been carved then fashioned together in sections. There is a nail on the back, which I’m assuming was attached for hanging, but I would think this really requires something more sturdy to hang, like a bracket for a wall anchor attachment as it is heavy, (just under 7 lbs). This is an old piece by unknown maker. The detailing and paint accents really lend to its striking appearance. In overall good condition, with the following noted: the tip of the feather accents on the helmet has broken off at the end, areas of missing paint, surface dust in spots, natural cracking to the wood. Despite the issues noted, this piece displays really well, even when standing up on a shelf and not being hung.
