This barn owl sculpture was carved with a chainsaw from a white pine log. It stands 28 inches tall and is roughly 10 inches wide. It has been sealed in spar urethane and can be kept inside or outside, but if kept outside, I highly recommend keeping it in a cool shaded location like under a covered porch roof. Avoid placing the carving in direct sunlight as the excessive heat and harsh UV lights are very hard on wood carvings. As can be seen in the photos, the carving does have some cracks in it. Cracking is a natural and common occurrence in wood carvings. As the carving ages a bit more cracking may occur.
