Stunning Large Original Leonardo Salazar Wood Carving “St Francis” Signed Rare!! The artist Leonardo Salazar is the son of Leo Salazar. His carvings are made from the cedar wood selected from the forests of New Mexico. Per my research, he visualizes the carving from each piece of wood he selects. This carving is of St Francis. He is standing in front of a tree stump with birds perched on the stump in front of him. He holds a cross tightly to his chest. The carving stands approximately 14″ tall x 11″ long x 6 deep. It is clearly hand carved on the base of the carving with Leonardo Salazar’s name and the year. The condition is amazing. Hopefully my pictures show you all the detail and toning in the wood.
