Hand Carved BLACK BEAR CUB with BEEHIVE HONEY BEE Wall Art Chainsaw Wood Carving
“Black Bear Cub after Beehive Honey”. This carving is 30″ high by 10 1/4″ wide. This is an original relief wood carving that I designed and carved in my studio. It was completely carved from one piece of wood. All the coloring and shading was burned by hand. No paint or stain was used on this piece. I use these methods as they bring out the beauty of the wildlife without hiding the beauty of the wood. PROCESS: The medium used is kiln dried Pine. I drew my original design out on the wood, and cut and roughed it out with saws and grinders, and carved the details with grinders. I then burned the coloring on this sculpture. I prepared the wood with a coat of a penetrating oil-base finish, and then I brushed on a coat of U. Resistant Spar Urethane with a “Satin” sheen. The back is flat for wall mounting. On the back I hand carved a flush mount hanger for a nail or screw on your wall. I signed and dated the back. God Bless you, Clint Wickman. All carvings are well packed.
