HUGE vintage hand carved solid wood life size saint Joseph Jesus icon sculpture
This is a stunningly huge vintage hand carved wood sculpture of Saint Joseph. It is hand cut from an extremely heavy solid piece of wood and beautifully painted with gilded gold and rich color. It is nearly life-size measuring 54 1/2 inches tall by 16 inches wide by 10 1/4 inches thick/back to front. It is very well carved and done with a realistic approach. The carving tool marks are visible throughout, refer to close ups. Saint Joseph is depicted standing holding a chisel in hand, with other hand opened on his chest. He has a very detailed 2 piece robe with his feet exposed at the bottom. He stands on a thick 6 sided wooden base. The whole piece is cut by hand from one piece of solid wood.
