Vintage Folk Art Horse Head Sculpture Description and Item Information Up for sale is this carved wooden horse head. Please excuse any glare in the photos. This horse head was carved from wood, and then mounted on a flat board. This piece is absolutely charming, with lots of character. This horse head portion measures approximately 8 3/4 inches long, 4 1/8 inches wide, and 8 inches tall. The board is approximately 10 3/4 inches long, 7 15/16 inches wide, and 3/4 inch tall. Unpacked, this piece weighs about 4 pounds 8.5 ounces. This would be a fabulous addition to a ranch or western decor, or it would look wonderful with other folk art. Identification This piece is marked beneath four times with intertwined initials, MES. This piece is vintage, but the exact age is not known. Condition This item looks good overall, with minor wear, and no cracks. One ear is chipped, but this may have been done when it was made, as the chipped area is the same color as the rest of the piece. This piece has a nice patina.
