Mid Century Modern Wood Cat Shelf Sculpture Folk Art Modernist Bohemian Carved
Offering a unique freestanding vintage wood shelf in the shape of a cat. The cat was skillfully hand carved from a solid block of hardwood, and has a nice smooth finish. The piece is beautiful viewed from any angle, including underneath. The origin and maker is unknown, as there are no markings on the piece. Condition: This piece is in good condition for its age, with a few light scuffs visible on close inspection. On the underside, one can see there are two tight splits on the shelf part, one extending from each end. They do not appear to be a structural issue at all, but just to be safe I wouldn’t recommend putting more than 4-5 lbs weight on the shelf.
