Tom Taber California Quail Wood Carving Decoy Signed Bird Sculpture Glass Eyes
This is one of two different Tom Taber quail that I have for sale. This one is 8.75 tall, 8 deep and 5 wide. It is carved in an inquisitive way, with its head slightly cocked to the side. It has glass eyes and a hand carved plume on top. There are two dents at the top of a wing on the back which show the wood color underneath. There is another dent in the middle of the back that has paint over it, so that may have occurred before being painted. One side has a textured section that is part of the finish put on over the paint. For some reason the finish dried that way instead of the smooth look like everywhere else.
