Superb Makonde African Ebony Wood Carving Sculpture Carved Head Face Statue Tanzanian. This is a fabulous piece of Handcarved Ebony. It was handmade by the Makonde Tribe in Tanzania East Africa. It is a fabulous Ethnographic collectable from Tanzania and is skilfully made from one piece of hardwood. It is in excellent condition and is at least 35 years old , but these are difficult to date exactly. It is a lovely piece and such carvings are becoming very collectable. It stands 9.5 inches tall and measures 7.75 inches across the base. It is one of the best ones I have owned and is from my personal collection.
