This is a large vintage Witco hand-carved wood framed wall sculpture, measures about 48″ across x 14 1/8″ high x 2 1/2 thick, weight is 8.83 pounds on my scale. On the back it is marked “W-440″(see photo #9). The sculpture itself is in very good condition, it could possibly use a cleaning but overall it looks very nice and could be displayed just as it is in my opinion. The painted background shows age discoloration(see photo #12). The wood frame also shows age discoloration but is in good overall condition(see photos). This MID CENTURY Witco CRYPTOMERIA Wood horse sculpture Comes from the estate of its original owners. Made as a fireplace tool holder, this could be REPURPOSEd very easilY. It comes with a broom, shovel and tongs. There Is a bellows with it which ill send along but it is not original to the set. The metal tool holder screws into the wood and could be taken off or replaced with a small tray for menus at a restaurant or magazines etc. Im not certain if the tools are oRiginal but ive Googled and seen a few versions of this set; there are a variety of fireplace tool styles i’m seeing with other sets but there is a Horse and tool set i found that has the same geometric handles so thEse may be the original tools. The condition is good with some dings. Please zoom and look at the last two photos. The is a surface fissure in the wood On the front , a natural crack as far as i can tell, it doesn’t go in very far. But i want to mention it. It just looks part of the rustic nature of this piece. Very heavy piece, 17 lbs. (WITHOUT TOOLS) AND before packaging. 48 tall, and approx 8 x 10 wide and deep.
