Vintage Folk Art Handcarved/Painted Wooden Decoy Fish Advertising Trade Sign. This is for a fantastic vintage folk art hand carved & hand painted wooden fish. Has terrific hand painted detailing along with a great carved out “GONE FISHING” on one side only. Does have hanging eye hooks installed on top side of fish. It measures approximately 19 3/4 inches length by 5 3/4 inches height by 1 1/2 inches thick. It has wonderful folk art appeal. It is in great vintage condition. Does have one sliver of wood missing on rear fin on one side. Doesn’t show from opposite side. Great decor for trophy room, man cave, camp, cottage & avid fisherman. Fair Trade Wooden Elephant 33cm size Hand Carved. Hand Carved Wooden Elephant made from Jamjuree wood which is native to Thailand. Each piece is individually hand carved, so differences in wood grain will appear. Has been coloured, polished and treated. Tusks are removable and are made from Mango wood. Tusks are 7cm long. Care Instructions: Wipe with a soft dry cloth to remove dust. This is a natural piece of timber that will continue to dry over time. Small cracks may appear spots during times of humidity, this is normal and not a fault in the wood. Use furniture oil to condition the wood if you see these signs, just like you would for outdoor furniture. Size: 33cm high x 41cm long x 19cm wide at belly. Country of Origin: Thailand. This extraordinary 1960s-70s trade sign was used in front of a northern Indiana Farm Bureau Co-Op for almost twenty years and has a great, heavy paint history. Carved from a single 150 year old log salvaged from a local barn, it measures 64 tall x 14 wide x app. 12 deep and measures app. 12 across the base. As the photos show, it is exceptionally realistic with deeply cut details and a smooth enamel-like surface from heavily applied house paint. The last coat of paint dates from the 1980s. You will note old insect holes (the log had some powder post BEFORE it was carved) and expected age/weather cracks. It is sturdy with stable paint and terrific presence.
