A wonderful diorama carving of the cowboy’s best friend “Jake Wiskers Bodre – Trail Cook” done in 1992. The diorama shows “Jake” hard at work with his pot of beans and eggs and bacon on the fire. Some wire is used for handles, but otherwise everything is hand-carved and painted wood in masterful fashion. The figure stand 8 1/4″ high, the base measures 8 3/4″ wide by 3 deep and is in perfect condition. The piece is signed on the bottom and includes what is probably meant to be its official title “Come an git it” – a very Andy Anderson-like image. This carving is part of our massive lifelong connection of works by only the finest caricature/folk art carvers in America. It is just one of many works that will be offered in the near future as we need to downsize at retirement to smaller quarters.
