Large Vintage Hand Carved Haitian Wood Sculpture Statue of a farmer carrying a pig with liquor bottle in belt. Statue stands 46 inches (4 foot) tall. These wooden items are becoming extremely rare as all the forests and wood are mostly gone in Haiti. Just google deforestation of Haiti and you will be shocked. Excellent condition with one very small crack in base (see picture) and one small crack in forehead of man (see picture) The pig and detail of man are excellent. The base is signed as shown. Not sure of artist name, looks like ENE botihd’y but judge for yourself. Color variation is uniform, there is one irregularity wood knot? On inside of one leg. This is an exquisite and excellently done RARE native Haitian wood carving from mid last century.
