Beautiful handcarved wooden driftwood sculpture of a majestic eagle. This sculpture is signed L. MOSLEY on the bottom. Very nice piece in very good condition. The total height measures 11.75 tall. There’s one part that has a separation as shown. Im not sure if that was done intentionally but I included a closeup picture of it. Please examine all pictures and feel free to ask questions.

Rare large vintage stunning wood sculpture of a group of birds/ducks on a large rain tree root. Inscribed at the wood master artist Ketut Widia from Mas Bali, a student of the renowned Bagus Tilem. He has been featured in various exhibitions and highly sought by collectors, additionally a sculpture was confirmed in Tilem Gallery workshop. Vintage OUTSIDER FOLK ART Wood Root Sculpture PORCUPINE Hand Carved. Probably circa 1940s, possibly earlier. Northeastern folk art, very charming primitive piece. One of a kind. Excellent vintage condition, no scratches, broken root ends, or repair- pristine. 12″ long x 6.25″ high x 5.25 wide. Solid and very heavy hardwood which has been polished and smoothed. Completely hand made outsider/folk art piece carved and fashioned from a large gnarled wood root with the root ends representing the’quills’. The top clearly shows 6 round flat areas where branches were sawed off to create the porcupine back. Fantastic texture of bark and wood lumps and bumps. Amazing expression and hand carved face, ears, legs. Legs are attached by wooden dowels, feet have been individually carved and are securely nailed on. Eyes are flat black painted metal nails. Fantastic one of a kind piece- gallery quality collectible. Signed with the carved name EZRA BEAN on the underside. See all pics and use zoom. Barn owner said that the previous owner’s family must have made it a long time ago and put it in the loft and forgot about it over time. A completely unique sculpture- would look great on a mantle piece etc, a very special gift for an Art collector. Not sure what type of wood this is…. Weird, warty, and wonderful Folk Art!
