Incredible and beautiful piece of Art. Model Totem Pole, THUNDERBIRD, EAGLE and HAWKMAN above OCTOPUS. So very detailed carving by John Henry Hunt, a member of the Kwakiulth First Nation and famous world wide known Hunt-Family. He pays so much attention to details and clearly shows off his talent in this piece. Have a close look – the carving is truly highest quality. The eagle on top is spreading it’s wings, the painting is close to perfection. Just a wonderful piece of Indigenous Art – traditional, colorful, vibrant and powerful. Even the wings are not only painted, but carved in superb clean lines and depth. Signed at the back, the totem is mounted on a black wooden base. Presenting a stunning hand carved Canadian Indian wooden wall carving expertly hand crafted and signed by the Kwakiutl Northwest Coast First Nations artist, Herman Bee. This exceptionally fine relief carving depicts a Killer Whale totem rendered in a traditional manner. This piece has been finely hand carved and beautifully finished with superb detail and a lovely depth of carving. This exquisite piece has been exceptionally hand carved from one solid piece of beautifully grained timber which has developed a lovely mellow patina that only time can bring. This flat-backed piece is designed to be displayed as a wall hanging with a small strap of leather attached to the reverse side. SIZE: This impressive piece measures approx 5 x 5.5 inches or 130 x 140mms. CONDITION: This fine example is presented in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, breaks or repairs. The timber has developed an appealing patina. This piece has been very well care for and presents spectacularly. MARKS: This piece is nicely signed to the reverse “Herman Bee Killer Whale Kwakiutl”. What a beautiful piece!!! Authentic and OLD No. Rthwest Coast native Art! Check this out – what a beauty!! KILLER WHALE Totem Sculpture (3D). Carved all around, very powerful and rich expression, unusual but superb! Excellent masterpiece by late Haida Nation Artist Darrell LeBlanc – These are very hard to find these days. The Quality is truly amazing. So much detail and yet simple, elegant and just – beautiful – cedar wood. Sorry, it’s a little dusty on the pictures – but it’s in great condition. Measurements: 15″ x 5″ x 3 1/2 (39 x 13 x 9 cm). The Artist: Darrell LeBlanc was a member of the Haida Nation. He had over 30years experience of carving. His sophisticated style can be seen in his wood and argillite carvings. As a member of the Haida Nation, his interest in art began at a young age. Darrell was mostly noted for his traditional yellow cedar rattles, totem poles and talking sticks. He has also produced a series of limited edition prints and today his pieces are highly sought after. Darrel passed away in 2014. Another incredible piece of true Indigenous Art from the First Nations of the Pacific Northwest coast of Canada -direct from the Artist. The Artist: Doug Horne is a member of the Coast Salish First Nation, originating from. He comes from the large and worldwide known LaFortune Family and trained with Doug and Perry Lafortune, as well as with his uncle, Francis Horne. He creates work with traditional Salish crests and motifs, but he is especially interested in experimenting with unconventional forms and unique symbols. Doug is primarily a wood carver at this stage in his young career but his pieces are already easy recognizable for his clean lines and elegant expression.
