It is in very nice condition. The mouse/rat is a separately signed piece that fits in the cat’s mouth. The cat’s tail and the mouse’s tail are separate pieces that are dry-fit in place. The cat and mouse both have natural fiber whiskers. Cat with mouse woodcarving by artist Sergio Santos from La Union. The great charm of the figures of this region is their primitive and rustic features. Its geographic location which is much further from the capital than other Alebrije towns, makes it less likely to be visited by tourists. Traditional figures from the Tejalpa Union include saints, churches, nuns and pantheons. Though this town shows a smaller evolution, it has great artists, which are extremely popular in stores and galleries. The cat measures about 9 inches long and 9 inches high (including it’s tail when pointed up over it’s back). The mouse is about 5 inches long nose to tail.
