Superb Old Makonde Tree of Life African Ebony Wood Carving Sculpture Carved Wooden Statue Tanzanian. This is a fabulous piece of Handcarved Ebony. It was handmade by the Makonde Tribe in Tanzania East Africa. It is a fabulous Ethnographic collectable from Tanzania and is skilfully made from one piece of hardwood. The top of the statue has a figurative head and beLow this there are 6 complete figures holding up the tree of life plus 2 lower body images. It is in excellent condition and is at least 70 years old , but these are difficult to date exactly. It is a lovely piece and such carvings are becoming very collectable. It stands 16.5inches tall. It is one of the best ones I have owned and is from my personal collection.
