This wonderful folk art carved wooden snake is an early piece (I believe-it’s signed but not dated) by well-known Santa Fe artist Jim “Jimbo” Davila, who was especially known for his fantastic snakes in the 1980s &’90s. Every one of them is unique-this one is a bit more subdued & natural in color than a lot of his later snakes but it’s a terrific piece. It measures about 23″ long x about 10″ wide. In very good vintage condition overall, although I believe two of the front fangs may be broken off. Please take a close look at the photos to ascertain condition. I love this snake’s almost gleeful expression-I think it’s got a twinkle in its eyes! I hope you’ll love this somewhat rare piece as much as we have.
