Folk Art Haitian Carved Wood Sculpture Bust of Alexander Petion Vintage 11″ H and 7″ W x 5. Base is 4″ x 4.5″. It’s written Haiti and Alexander Petion on back. And side at bottom in gold paint. Please see all pictures for condition. It’s in good pre-owned condition with some minor issues to mention. Has a few line like marks on it one on back and one on top of head. Probably due to improper storage. It displays perfectly sits nicely. No chips or nicks that I see. Really nice patina and wood. It has some gold paint in places lightly. A few minor scratches to it from improper storage as well. Weighs 3 lbs 11 oz. Reasonable offers will be considered. Here is what Wikipedia says about Alexander below. This vintage Haitian Wood Log Sculpture of a seated mother breast feeding her sprawling infant, is in excellent condition. This one-of-a-kind piece of Haitian folk art was hand-carved using traditional techniques from a single section of a wood log, and dates to the 1960s. It measures 26″ tall, 9″ wide, 11 at the base, and is signed: E. Lesperance on the top of the base. It has a light, natural wood oil finish and color. There are a few splits from aging and two patches to the shoulders (by the artist) that add to the charm and authenticity of the artwork. The fine detailing, sculptural figure modeling, and craftsmanship of this sweet piece is really wonderful. A significant addition to your home décor and collection.

This primitive hand carved Santa is an original one-of-a-kind piece from the 1980s. Detailed carving in his face and beard, coat and boots. He carries a toy and a teddy with big pockets that probably hold more treats.
