Here’s an exceptionally gracious and wonderful sideboard, hand made in olde England by master craftsmen of a bygone era. There are 5 lovely beveled mirrors, set in beautifully detailed walnut woodwork. There are 9 carved panels, featuring a floral motif. See the detail photos. The drawer sides and bottoms are solid mahogany with lovely hand dovetailed joinery, see photos. The countertop has been refinished and has lovely light walnut graining. The antiqued brass hardware is exquisite, see the decorative hinges? The center pair of doors are locking, the left door has a hidden slide bolt, the right door has a tiny skeleton keyed lock. The cellarette, the inner liquor drawer on the right side, is tin lined, with dividers, and in excellent original condition. This was the centerpiece of some well-to-do estate’s dining room. This is a nice set of two antique hand carved large Gothic arm chairs (see photo). I was told by the former owner that they thought the chairs were European in origin – possibly German (see photos and determine the origin). The chairs are heavy and wonderfully carved. The chairs look to be made of Oak with a dark stained finish (see photos). A nice set of antique carved throne chairs for your home decor. I would date the chairs to be 125 +/- years old. Antique Pair of Two Gothic Carved Oak Castle Throne Armchairs Chair Carving Wood. Thank you for the interest in this item. We will help you load these chairs. DESCRIPTION: This is a nice set of two antique hand carved large Gothic arm chairs (see photo). The chairs each measure about 4 feet 3 inches high to the top of the back. Each chair measures about 2 feet 3 inches wide on the outside of the arms and each is about 2 feet 2 inches deep from the font of the chair to the back side. The burlap straps under the springs under one chair have come apart from age and will need to be redone (and I would recommend redoing the other burlap straps on the other chair as well). The upholstery on the chairs is in good condition if you replaced the old burlap straps that hold the springs up you could use the existing upholstery. The existing upholstery shows some signs of wear. I personally think the chairs would look great with black or dark red leather upholstery (see photos and / or the written description for the condition of this item).
