This shroom is made from cedar and finished with Helmsman outdoor Spar Urethane. Wood found in the deep east Texas woods. I carve using rotary tool, grinding tools, chainsaw, and then give it a nice sanding then a finish. A BIT OF CHECKING / CRACKING IS THE NATURE OF CHAINSAW CARVINGS. TO KEEP CRACKS TO A MINIMUM PLACE YOUR CARVING AWAY FROM EXCESSIVE HEAT OR SUN. AN IDEAL PLACE FOR A WOOD CARVING IS OUTDOORS UNDER AN OVERHANG OR IN SHADE. Also please be aware if you do intend to put this piece outside in the weather it will need to be treated at least once a year perhaps more depending on your conditio.
