For sale a lovely presentation of a boar hunting with dogs. Nice details for the size. Carved out of hardwood. You may ponder of the attack outcome by looking at this composition, will the pig become a dinner or gets away possibly killing one of the dogs…. We may never know, so far does not look too good for the piggy because the hunters are not to far behind…… The hardwood is preserved with oils, natural waxes or stains and poly, giving a nice warm color with shine. This is a high quality wood carving in hard wood, just like the rest you see around, was made with machine help then hand finished. Large size of: 14 1/4″ x 17 3/4″ approx. This one of a kind piece is a vintage hand carved wooden desk Caddy featuring two dogs peeking over the fence. Yes, it very old but this gives it so much character and charm! I tried to show how the nails are loosing from the Caddy to the carved part. It is still very functional but also just an amazing collector’s piece! It measures approximately as follows. This carved dog’s portrait was probably dopne in the Black Forest of Germany or in Switzerland. It features the subject dog (maybe a Labrador) looking to the left. The carving is mounted on a oval plaque It is 5.5″ tall x 5.5″ wide x 3 deep. It is a wonderful 3-D representation of a great subject.
