Chainsaw carved snow white owl bird totem pole. Hedwig Carving is 27 1/2″ tall 8″ wide. Carved from an ozark red cedar log. Has exterior sealer so can go inside or outside. He is looking for a new home! Add him to your decor! Would look great in a garden, on a deck rail, anywhere you want to put him! Then retirement set it. Check my older feedback to verify. Just can’t stop carving no matter what my age lol! The pics you are viewing are of the actual carving. If you have time, check out my other auctions! Lots more carvings to see! Each carving is unique. I do not use a duplicator or replicator like a lot of the chainsaw artists are doing. I start from scratch. I get a log or a piece of wood and begin carving. Then I move down to a smaller saw, then the grinders and sanders. Finally I wind them up with chisels. About the wood and sealer. Mostly I use Ozark red cedar and kiln dried pine for my carvings. Both perform well and have less checking than other woods. I use Minwax Helmsman Exterior Spar Urethane for sealer. The carvings get three coats before heading your direction. Care for the carvings would be just like caring for your lawn furniture. When it starts looking dull, simply give it another coat of sealer. Very easy to maintain. I have been carving for over 30 years. I use the chainsaw as a speed tool to remove the wood and shape out the carving. Each piece is a one of a kind and unique. The paint process is applied thin so the wood grain will show through. Then the sealer is applied. So thanks for looking and enjoy the auctions! Feedback would be appreciated!

This shroom is made from cedar and finished with Helmsman outdoor Spar Urethane. Wood found in the deep east Texas woods. I carve using rotary tool, grinding tools, chainsaw, and then give it a nice sanding then a finish. Please contact me with any questions or concerns regarding any of my pieces I will be more than happy to help if I can. MY CARVINGS ARE MADE FROM RECYCLED TREE LOGS. A BIT OF CHECKING / CRACKING IS THE NATURE OF CHAINSAW CARVINGS. TO KEEP CRACKS TO A MINIMUM PLACE YOUR CARVING AWAY FROM EXCESSIVE HEAT OR SUN. AN IDEAL PLACE FOR A WOOD CARVING IS OUTDOORS UNDER AN OVERHANG OR IN SHADE. Also please be aware if you do intend to put this piece outside in the weather it will need to be treated at least once a year perhaps more depending on your conditio.
