This listing is for the two hand carved wood bears that you see in the photos. They are not identical but I believe that they make a good pair. I do not know when they were carved. I do not know what kind of wood they are made of. I think maybe black walnut. Each bear measures close to 6 inches long and is about 3 ½ inches tall. Measured to the edge of the paws, each bear measures close to 3 inches wide. One bear weighs close to 11.8 while the other weighs close to 12.2 ounces. Both bears have glass eyes and teeth made from a substance that I have not identified. Curiously, the set of teeth on one bear are more defined or carved than on the other bear. The condition is much like you see it in the photos. They are generally in excellent condition. They might benefit from a careful cleaning. I brushed a lot of dust off of them but I missed some spots before taking the photos so some you might notice some small lighter areas where the surface is lower. Also, there is some light soil in the lower areas. There are no cracks or chips. I have not noticed any scratches. On one bear, some of the back bottom teeth are missing. I think that might be how it was made. Otherwise, these bears are fine and a shown. All four eyes are present. My photos should give you a good idea of their general condition. I guarantee these bears to be as described and represented by the 19 photos after the general description. The photos are part of the description. Please look at all of them. Please know that the lighting in my photos is uneven and that there might be shadows or reflections. The colors on my monitor look close to but not exactly like the actual colors. Different monitors may show different colors. I often say that an item measures or weighs “close to” because in my opinion no measurements are exact and some things are difficult to measure. Often, I have a double wall box custom made for larger items and that might result in a short delay. When I use packing peanuts, they are usually biodegradable.
