Vintage Carved Wood Sculpture Bust of Woman Venus Aphrodite of Capua. Nicely carved wooden sculpture depicting what I believe is the Aphrodite of Capua. There is hole drilled top and bottom making me think this was a caryatid support piece from a majestic piece of furniture or an architectural element. It has a hanging hook attached to the back and it will also free stand although it is a little top heavy. Measures 18.5in height x 7.5in width x 6.5in depth. Condition: Age splits to wood noticeable on sides, wear to finish on nose has been touched up. All told it shows very well.
