19TH CENTURY PAINTING / SCULPTURE. Approximately 13 ” By 4 ” CIRCA 1825 – 1850. This is one of those indescribable treasures that artists have left for posterity. Here, a piece of branch has been carved and sculpted by hand and then painted. The skill level is off the charts and the level of detail captured into the smallest space is truly remarkable! With this work the artist has kept the past alive. We can see the harbor and boats as they were almost two hundred years ago – simple craft with barely more than a sail and no motors or even steam vessels in sight! The tree is sculpted in relief and the artist was able to capture whole figures in the size of the head of a pin! The work is restful to look at. One senses this work was the patient joy of the artist, and this joy and appreciation of the moment and scenery has been captured forever! Two tiny holes to the wood where the work was probably hung well over a century ago. The signature uses old English script in use in the 18th and 19th centuries and we place an approximate date of the piece to 1825. This type of work is incredibly rare, most paintings of this kind and vintage simply haven’t made it to the 21st century. A marvelous acquisition for a fine art collector to display proudly! A Glorious 19th Century Treasure!

Stunning Large Original Leonardo Salazar Wood Carving “St Francis” Signed Rare!! The artist Leonardo Salazar is the son of Leo Salazar. His carvings are made from the cedar wood selected from the forests of New Mexico. Per my research, he visualizes the carving from each piece of wood he selects. This carving is of St Francis. He is standing in front of a tree stump with birds perched on the stump in front of him. He holds a cross tightly to his chest. The carving stands approximately 14″ tall x 11″ long x 6 deep. It is clearly hand carved on the base of the carving with Leonardo Salazar’s name and the year. The condition is amazing. Hopefully my pictures show you all the detail and toning in the wood. A very vintage and collectible item. This will make a terrific gift your special someone or for yourself. This sturdy and solid cabinet has adjustable glass shelves on top and brass handles on the doors. Each carved was hand made with long life symbols on them and the handles on the drawers has carved finger pull on. The rich brown colour will add warmth and style to your room. The top part can be separated making it easy for transportation. There is a small mark on the top of the sideboard and a stain inside the bookcase but nothing major to point out and also the lights works perfectly. Please have a closer look at the pictures because they form part of the description. Antique and vintage/used items will show signs of wear which form part of their character. All our items are cleaned thoroughly, then a coat of wax is applied to revive the leather/wood and finally hand polished. Please make sure you are happy with the condition you see in the pictures, viewings are possible via appointment only.
