Title: Authentic 16.5″ Hand-Carved Yoruba Wood Sculpture by Dejo Fakeye (Signed) Dimensions: Approximately 16.5″ H x 8.5″ W x 6″ D Up for sale is a stunning, large-scale neo-traditional African hardwood sculpture by the recognized Nigerian master carver Dejo Fakeye, a prominent member of the historic Fakeye carving dynasty. This commanding 16.5-inch piece depicts a Yoruba Babalawo (Priest or Shaman) holding dual sacred ceremonial staffs. It features classic Yoruba artistic identifiers: heavily stylized facial features, an elegantly textured chevron-patterned beard, a detailed beaded crown layout, and deep geometric tribal patterns chiseled into the base and kilt. Condition: Excellent vintage/pre-owned condition. The wood has a rich, warm honey-brown patina with a beautiful soft luster. No major cracks, breaks, or missing structural elements. The base features minor surface age lines natural to solid wood mediums. The bottom is cleanly incised with the artist’s full signature: “DEJO FAKEYE”. Please review all photos for exact details.
