This “Bear on Log” wall art was designed and handcrafted by artisans specialized in Intarsia woodworks. This guy is made from pine and finished with cabots Australian Timber oil. Wood found in the deep east Texas woods. I carve using rotary tool, grinding tools, chainsaw, and then give it a nice sanding then a finish. It was roughed out with a chainsaw and scroll saw, then grinders and chisels were used to carve details. I do all coloring on my carvings with fire and stains and coat with spar urethane. The eyes, hair and everything I carved as realistic as I can. On the back I signed and dated and it has a recess carved out for hanging flush against the wall. Imagine this over a fireplace, in a kids room or anywhere else it could be a centerpiece of your hand carved wall-hanging collection. For your consideration we have a well executed wood carving of 2 wild boars 11″ long, 3″ wide and 6.5 tall. There are some light surface scuffs that will be easy to cover if you choose to do so, there is also a hole in the bottom that indicates this was attached to or mounted to something at one time.
