Large Wood Carved Eagle Bird Sculpture. This piece is hand craved from the Ukraine – stamped and signed by artist and dated. The initials of the artist is either VM or VN (hard to read). Measures 34 1/2 from wing tip to wing tip. 22 3/8 wing tip to ground. Eagle’s body measures 6 5/8″ long x 7 1/4″ diameter x 10 1/4 tall. There is minor age hairline split in the chest (displayed in photo), a few wings tips have ware marks (displayed in photos). The eagle is standing on a tree strump. Their is a reddish orange like varnish on the stump and talons. The eagles face has reddish orange color. The color of the wood and body is ashy brown charcoal like mixed with tan. Very nicely carved – full of details. The wings come off the body. This piece was brought back from Ukraine by my Grandfather and it has been in my family ever since. My grandfather given it to me, but now I need to place it with someone else, as I need to cut back on my collectibles. This piece is overall in very good condition considering the age. One of a kind.
