OLD Carved Wood/Carving Tobacco Jar/Humidor-BEAR-Black Forest German/Brienz. Overall 11″ tall x 7″ wide x 5 1/2 deep. Total weight: 2 lbs. Antique tobacco jar in the form of a tree stump and 2 bears. Hinged lid (steel hinge). Removable brass dish for spent matches. Match box holder carved into the design. Germany (Black Forest) or Switzerland (Brienz). There is an old, age-related split running vertically up the entire length of the jar on the right side (this is a clean split with no loss of wood). There is a tight age-related vertical split to the wood that the bowl fits into (this is not conspicuous). Otherwise this tobacco jar is in excellent, all original condition with no damages and no significant wear. No restorations or touch ups. No signs of abuse. No chips, losses, breaks, bruises, scuffs. No significant scratches or rubs. Nothing at all significant or conspicuous. Very clean as found, inside and out. No stains or discolorations. The hinge is secure and functional with no issues. The brass bowl is in excellent condition with no dents, dings, splits, stains, corrosion.
